Tony has worked in over one hundred and fifty primary school as a supply teacher over a twenty-year period. He is equally experienced at teaching all ages from Reception to Year 6. He has an enhanced DBS check and up-to-date safeguarding training. He can be trusted to deliver all National Curriculum subject lessons while bringing extra fun and excitement to a class’s day with his spontaneous storytelling and puppetry in every spare moment!
Tony is experienced in teaching business English. He also specialises in sessions encouraging adult learners to practise interacting with other agencies such as schools, doctors’ surgeries and to advocate confidently for themselves in person and during phone calls. Tony understands how important play is during learning experiences for children and adults alike – and how sessions that involve laughter and fun will help students of every age to learn and remember in the easiest and best way!
Tony offers online tuition in English, maths and French for primary aged children studying the KS1 and KS2 national curriculum. With his unique approach to teaching involving stories, puppets and educational games, Tony can captivate reluctant learners and encourage them to re-engage with their studies. The best way to consolidate learning is to demonstrate knowledge to someone else. Tony gives your child the chance to teach the concepts they have mastered to a puppet friend – and to enjoy the pride they will feel in showing what they know. While this is happening, Tony will be assessing your child’s development and setting out the most helpful stepping stones for their future learning in maths, English or French!
